Seeking your heritage.
In the footsteps of your forefathers
Over the last years I've arranged several genealogy tours with guests wanting to visit the towns/areas/churches, to where they can track back there forefathers.
This can be organized in several ways. Maybe you want to visit areas and towns/houses which look like it did when your great-great-grandfather emigrated. Maybe you want to do family search? I can put you in contact with a Danish reasearcher who will work for you and then from what he finds, arrange a tour in the area. Maybe we can even find some relatives? This has been done.
Maybe you want to visit the specific spots, where your forefather lived and worked.
You start by sending me a message on the form below and I'll contact you.

CHURCHES:
The church in the parish, where your forefather was born is the core of a tour; here a statement from a guest:

"Visiting my grandmother’s church and neighborhood and being able to tour a nearby manor where my grandmother and parents most likely worked was the highlight of the trip. Poul our guide knew so much about my grandmother’s church making sure that I didn’t miss a thing…such as touching the baptismal font. When I did he touched my heart by singing a beautiful Danish traditional baptismal hymn in beautiful tenor."
More detailed info: Most guests provide me with some placenames related to their family; eg. where the man, respectively the woman came from originally, where they met and lived as a couple (if they did so in Denmark) etc. As many relevant place names as possible related to your family. From that info, I would then make a research tour to the area; make sure that churches are open, so we can come in, check out any yet existing buildings in the area from that time, plan the tour, so you experience the landscape and culture in the area. From there I would plan the tour for the guests; most often 2-3 days, like one day more specifically connected to the place names available, another day learning about the area, great landscapes , important sights in the area, and maybe a third day to explore other places in Denmark, you wish, this is all up to you. I will charge the fee for one extra day for my on-site-research needed for the tour. If you want to find more details; eg. Exact adress for your forefathers, I connect with persons from a local archive from the relevant area, who is willing, against a separate payment agreed between the guest and the person from the archive. Then most often more specific details are found, like specific adresses and places; maybe even persons in other lines of the family, who are still around etc. This is of course a more thorough preparation as you will understand. Please note, that even you do that, you cannot be sure to find exact adresses. From the info I get there, I will again plan the tour for the guests like mentioned above. I hope this gives you a better idea about the options. As you can understand there is more on-site-research needed for these tours in general than on a posted tour. I do not provide lodging etc or transport. I can help find transport, where we need a vehicle with driver.
