Golden Age of Danish Art

The Golden Age of Danish art is a fascinating period. Never have so many great artists and thinkers been gathered in such a little space as in Copenhagen in the first half of the 18-hundreds. Painters, like Købke and Eckersberg, the famous fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen, the worldknown sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen, the philosopher Soeren Kierkegaard and many others.

We pass the University of Copenhagen, we hear about the golden horns, we pass some of the buildings, where Hans Christian Andersen lived, we visit the Cathedral of Copenhagen with the famous statue of Christ by Thorvaldsen and we see the statues of Kierkegaard and Andersen.

We also hear about Georg Carstensen and pass Tivoli, the famous amusement garden, he founded on parts of the ramparts of Copenhagen.The tour is  a walking tour through the heart of Copenhagen.
